TW March Update — Crusader and Monk Branches
Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau received a March 2026 patch adding formal second-job branches for the Swordsman and Acolyte lines — specifically Crusader (Holy tank/off-tank path) and Monk (fist combat support/DPS path). These branches expand skill trees beyond base Knight and Priest progression with class-specific mechanics familiar to classic Ragnarok Online players.
SEA launched July 16, 2026 with Job Freedom and classic second jobs (Knight, Priest, etc.) already available. As of August 16, 2026, Prelude to the Peak still lists Crusader & Monk as August chapter pillars — confirm live toggles after each maintenance on Patch Notes Hub. Deep dives: Crusader Build, Monk / Champion Build, Champion Tank Build.

Crusader Branch — Swordsman Line
Crusader splits from the Swordsman/Knight line as a Holy-aligned frontliner — higher MDEF, party protection skills, and undead/demon race synergy compared to pure physical Knights. TW players use Crusaders in MVP tanks slots and structured PvP frontlines.
Build foundations overlap with Swordsman Build — Vit and Str investments, shield swapping, Bowling Bash alternatives on the Knight side. When Crusader reaches SEA, compare gear templates on Job 2 Builds before splitting refine between Knight and Crusader weapons.
Job Freedom lets one character experiment — free stat resets mean you can test Crusader without rerolling, but refine and job-specific weapons are not free — see Job Freedom System.
Monk Branch — Acolyte Line
Monk branches from the Acolyte/Priest line as a fist-fighting support/DPS hybrid — combo skills, SP management, and party buffs distinct from full-support Priest play. Monks fill flex slots in parties that already have a dedicated healer.
Compare baseline support mechanics on Acolyte / Priest Build. Monks trade pure healing output for personal DPS and mobility — valuable in PvP skirmishes previewed below.
King of Kings PvP and Sparring Arena Beta
The TW March patch bundled King of Kings structured PvP events and a sparring arena beta supporting 1v1, 3v3, and 5v5 queues — testing ground for the esports roadmap announced at Ragnarok Carnival. SEA players already access base arena modes on PvP Modes, but King of Kings seasonal rules may differ when imported.
Practice arena fundamentals now — movement, burst windows, target priority — before Legend Cup qualifiers publish bracket dates. As of August 4, 2026, Gravity is still processing the community survey.
Regional Differences — SEA vs TW/HK/MO
SEA launch already includes Job Freedom, eight base classes including Druid, and classic second jobs. TW March content adds branch depth (Crusader, Monk), expanded PvP seasons, and arena beta features SEA may receive later.
