Ragnarok: The New World Mobile Controls

Virtual Joystick and Movement

The left side of the screen hosts the virtual joystick. Drag your thumb in any direction to move; release to stop. Tap the ground elsewhere for click-to-move — useful when kiting MVPs as a Hunter or Gunslinger. A sprint icon appears when you double-tap forward; use it to cross large fields like the Prontera outskirts without holding the joystick.

Camera control uses a dedicated drag zone on the right side (outside skill buttons). Pinch to zoom. If your thumb frequently misses skills, shrink the joystick in Settings → Controls → Layout Scale.

Combat and Skill Bar

Basic attack is a large button on the right, usually bottom-center. Skill icons ring the attack button; tap once to cast, tap twice for some channeled skills to cancel. Swipe the skill bar horizontally to reach secondary pages — mirror your PC Shift-bar layout so muscle memory transfers between platforms.

Auto-battle toggles from the sword icon near the minimap. It is fine for low-level grinding but performs poorly on MVPs that require dodging. For manual play, practice thumb placement for ADL-style weaving on Hunters — details in our ADL Hunter Build Guide.

Targeting and Loot

Tap an enemy to select it; tap again to lock target. The target cycle button sits near the minimap. Loot appears as tap icons on the ground; enable Auto-Loot in settings for farming sessions but turn it off during party MVP hunts so roll rules stay fair.

Inventory and character panels slide in from screen edges. Long-press an item to split stacks or compare gear. Refining on mobile requires extra care — confirm each tap. Pair mobile sessions with the Refine Cost Planner on a second device if possible.

UI Layout and Accessibility

Settings → Controls lets you resize buttons, adjust opacity, and move the chat window. Raise skill button size to 110% if you play on a phone rather than a tablet. Enable "Left-handed layout" to swap joystick and skill clusters.

Battery saver mode caps frame rate but makes timing-sensitive content harder. For GvG or hard dungeons, plug in and use Performance mode — see Settings & Performance for a full breakdown. Cross-platform players should claim daily rewards on both clients via the same account; check Daily Routine so you never miss stamina resets.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use a Bluetooth controller on mobile?
Some Android devices support controllers through native mapping; iOS support varies by version. The touch UI remains the officially supported method. Rebind-friendly games like ROW benefit from claw grip on larger phones.
Why do my skills miss on mobile?
Touch registers can drop inputs when frame rate dips. Enable Performance graphics, reduce on-screen effects, and increase skill button hitboxes. Also verify you are not accidentally moving the camera while casting.
Is auto-battle safe for refinement farming?
Auto-battle can farm materials but wastes time on maps above your power level. Manually farm targeted maps listed in our Leveling Guide, then refine during downtime in town.
